SEVEN LAKES LANDOWNERS’ ASSOCIATION, INC.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

MAY 31, 2006 @ 7:30 P.M.

 

President Truesdell with all Directors present called the meeting to order.  Also present were Manager Fulcher, Assistant Manager Beane and 52 members.

PRESIDENT’S REPORT – Truesdell

 

1.     Welcome and thanks

 

2.     Boating season has opened with a fury and boaters need to reacquaint themselves with the rules and regulations before operating a boat on our lakes.

 

3.     Contractors are not allowed to work in Seven Lakes on Saturdays from April 1 to September 30.

 

4.     The Board approved two changes to our Rules and Regulations at the May work session.  1) No unlicensed vehicles allowed in the Community over 14 days and, 2) to allow portable storage units for people moving in or out of Seven Lakes, not to exceed 14 days.

 

5.     The staff will be posting Board of Directors meeting minutes on our website.

 

COMMUNITY STANDARDS – Herman

 

1.     One goal of the Committee this year is to review the Rules and Regulations that apply to community standards.

 

2.     Fourteen complaints were received last month and most infractions have been corrected.

 

RECREATION – Fathauer

 

1.     A playground sub-committee has been formed to advise the Recreation Committee on the needs for additional playground equipment.

 

2.     New restrooms at Sequoia Point are open, swimming pool is open, swimming lessons for ages 5-15 starts June 12, water aerobics to start June 5, horse camps are full, Firsthealth sponsored Active for Live program starts June 14, and the Seven Lakes Country Club will be sponsoring a youth golf clinic.

 

BY-LAWS COMMITTEE – Nuti

 

1.     Committee includes Ray Pardue and George Stahl.

 

2.     The committee will be looking at what is a member in good standing, recall of a Director, calling of a special meeting, and including a Sunshine Law.

 

LAKES/MAINTENANCE – Nuti

 

1.     Committee includes Norm Ihrig, Jay Kenzel, and Andy Lowe.

 

2.     One project will be cleaning up the maintenance shop and area and making sure hazardous materials are handled and labeled correctly.

 

SECURITY – Florence

 

1.     Security Forces Incorporated will take over gate guard duties as of June 1, 2006.  This should save the Association about $20,000 per year.

 

2.     Roving Patrol will continue in-house and will be done by Mickey Lewis and Carolyn Turner.

 

3.     A Community Watch meeting will be held in mid-June.

 

ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW – Richmond

 

1.     Five new houses and twelve alterations or additions were approved in May.

 

FINANCE – Hudson

 

1.     Revenues for 2005-06 were $1,321,000 and Expenditures were $1,159,000 or a surplus of $162,000 increasing our Fund Balance to $414,000.

 

2.     Unbudgeted repairs to Echo Dam could cost $100,000 to $150,000.  This would be a big reduction in our Fund Balance.

 

3.     A Public Meeting will be held in July to discuss and receive suggestions on how to fund the repairs to Echo Dam.

 

PUBLIC COMMENTS:

 

1.     Bill Price objected to the new policies on dogs and skateboards.

 

2.     Dave Kinney asked residents to attend the Small Area Planning meeting to be held on June 5.

 

3.     Mary Hudson asked the Board to check on how good the North side gate guard can see the sticker on cars using the outside lane.

 

4.     Charlie Oliver praised Board members for making changes that saved the Association money.
